The tenth edition of Tocatì, the International Festival of Street Games, is organized by the Associazione Giochi Antichi in collaboration with the Municipality of Verona.
Born in 2003, the Festival was immediately a great success. Since 2006 it has been dedicated to a different country each year (2006 Spain, 2007 Croatia, 2008 Scotland, 2009 Greece, 2010 Switzerland), represented by its traditional games, music, dancing and gourmet features.
The theme of this year’s festival is the European tradition of fun, and this will give us a way, thanks to many experts from all over the country, to study the situation of the traditional European game in its various forms.
For three days, on 21, 22 and 23 September 2012, the games and music which came to Verona in the past ten years, as well as a preview of future editions can be met.
Like every year, there are the most representative Italian games of the past, as well as numerous recreational traditions never been to the Festival before. Groups of gamers, ancient traditions and playful gestures, various personalities from the world of culture, music, singing and dancing are going to fill the streets and squares of one of the most beautiful cities in the world (for the occasion, the traffic is diverted from roads and cars disappear) where the public can discover and play fifty games.
