Campioni del mondo. Italia loves Unesco

On Friday, June 5, 2026, at 9:15 PM, the Arena di Verona will host a special evening dedicated to Italian cultural heritage. A prestigious event celebrating music, culture and entertainment in the heart of a city long associated with art and the operatic tradition.

Campioni del mondo. Italy loves Unesco will be a major event dedicated to Opera and Italian Cuisine. Inside the Amphitheatre, audiences will enjoy an opera performance featuring some of the most iconic scenes from the world of Opera, interpreted by celebrated opera stars accompanied by the Orchestra and Choir of the Arena di Verona, with sets, costumes and more than five hundred artists including musicians, mimes, dancers and performers.

Piazza Bra, meanwhile, will take centre stage in a tribute to Italian Cuisine, with a live representation of the various stages involved in preparing a grand popular dinner under the stars for one thousand guests.

For the occasion, Verona will welcome leading opera artists together with guests from the pop and rock scene, including Plácido Domingo, Vittorio Grigolo and Patti Smith, who will perform a symphonic version of Because the Night.

A celebration of Italy and its UNESCO heritage that, following the recognition of Italian Opera singing in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, will bring more than 100 UNESCO delegates from around the world to Verona. The event will be produced by Fondazione Arena di Verona, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Sport.
